Sealing Valve Bags And Pouches: What To Look For In A Welding System

Key specifications — sealing width, film thickness tolerance and cycle speed — that determine whether a welding system fits your packaging line.

Packaging lines have specific demands that a general-purpose welding machine doesn't always meet, which is why we build dedicated welding systems for valve bags, LDPE pouches and flexible packaging.

Sealing width matters more than it might seem — too narrow and the seal risks failing under transport stress; too wide and you waste material and cycle time. Most of our packaging welding systems are configured for sealing widths that balance strength and material efficiency for the specific bag or pouch format.

Film thickness tolerance is another key spec. A system tuned for a narrow thickness range will give more consistent seals, but if your supply chain uses variable-gauge film, look for a system with wider tolerance and adjustable energy/time control.

Cycle speed should be matched to your upstream and downstream equipment, not maximized in isolation — a welding system that's faster than the rest of your line just creates a bottleneck elsewhere. Tell us your target output and film specification and we'll recommend a configuration that fits your actual line, not just a spec sheet number.
